Here are some pictures of Matt doing a second racking of the 2008 Pinot Noirs (which I might add are phenomenal).
The process of racking is essentially cleansing the wine. Racking removes the wine from barrel or tank and separates it from the lees and sediment that form.
Rinsing the pump and hoses to avoid any cross contamination between different lots of Pinot Noir and different aged barrels.

A native Oregonian, Joe travelled to France at a young age to apprentice with two of Burgundy’s top producers, Domaine G. Roumier and Domaine Comtes Lafon. After returning to Oregon, Joe produced wine for several top wineries including Elk Cove and Willamette Valley Vineyards.
Joe has also become one of the most vocal advocates of Oregon Wine, serving on several industry boards and hosting a weekly radio wine show. In 2002, no longer able to suppress his entrepreneurial spirit, Joe invested his life savings to start his own winery which now produces 3 distinctive brands:
